Pregnancy Support in Connecticut

Working with me for prenatal care and through your birth plan means you are in control of your options. I believe together, we can find the right ways for you to feel supported, healthy, and safe throughout your entire experience. Informed decision-making is very important to me. I will help you find resources to support you in deciding what feels right for you and your baby.

Allow me to give you a glimpse of what I provide:

  • Weaving discussions and guidance around your birthing plan vision. This includes how to nurture and nourish your body, mind, soul, and family during preconception, prenatal, and postpartum care. Partners are encouraged to join in the discussions.

  • Discussing lab work options, types of pregnancy monitoring, and ultrasounds.

  • Hosting village prenatal visits to foster community and shared experiences.

  • Utilizing nutritional guidance, herbal remedies, Reiki, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, and homeopathic remedies for a healthy pregnancy and ways to feel healthy and vibrant.

“I had the pleasure of working with Kara twice. The first time was for a home birth. She was a wonderful birth attendant and was so professional with providing me a safe experience.

I hired Kara again 5 years later to be my midwife for another pregnancy. Sadly, I lost this pregnancy at 12 weeks gestation. My miscarriage would have been an extremely traumatic event if Kara hadn't been walking me through the whole process. She was available via text or email for days and even weeks afterward.

The day I found out I miscarried, I'll never forget Kara taking nearly a full hour to look for a heartbeat, even as I sensed that there wasn't one. I never felt rushed. In addition to this experience, she helped me get on an herbal and vitamin regimen to rebuild my iron stores and help my body process the miscarriage at home naturally without medical intervention. This made me feel safe and seen, which is so important when dealing with a loss.”
